Ingredients
1 3/4 cups self-rising flour 1 cup yogurt
For the topping:
3 tbsp sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp butter (unsalted)
1- 2 tbsp melted coconut oil (to work the dough)
In a large bowl, add the self-rising flour and yogurt.
Mix first with a silicone spatula, then grease your hands generously with melted butter or coconut oil and knead the dough until it forms a soft and elastic ball.
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions. Grease your hands with coconut oil and rub each ball well with oil to smooth the edges.
Dig into the center of each dough ball with your thumb to form the donut hole and twist to expand it to the maximum. The hole shrinks a lot in the air fryer, so make it wider.
Grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place 4 donuts in the basket, spaced apart as they expand a lot. Spray the donuts with oil.
Air fry the first batch at 180 degrees for 8-9 minutes or until puffed, golden brown and dry. They should look like small buns/bagels.
Meanwhile, fill a bowl with sugar and cinnamon. Stir to combine. Set aside. In another bowl, add the butter and melt in the microwave in 20-second intervals. Set aside at room temperature.
Remove the baked donuts from the air fryer and fry the second batch.
Place the hot donuts on a rack, immediately brush with melted butter and roll them in the bowl filled with cinnamon and sugar.
