A small Tip for a better Life!

You don’t have to wake up at 5 am to have a productive day. Wake up when you normally do, but the trick is to get up 5 mins before you are fully awake.

It’s possibly the most challenging thing you’ll do all day. You’ve just regained consciousness, but you’re not entirely awake yet. It feels warm and cozy under the blanket, and you want to curl up for a few more minutes. But don’t wait to get up until you are fully awake. You need a little fight. Get up while you’re still a bit sleepy because it’s essential to start your day with a victory. How you begin your day has the biggest impact on how the rest of the day goes. If you start defeated (by the urge to sleep more), your day will have more defeats. If you start with a win, you’ll have more wins later in the day because you’ll want to maintain the victory streak. The days I get up 5 mins before I am fully up are the days I’m most energetic, focused, and productive.

I’m not asking you to sleep less. Get your 8 hours of sleep. Wake up at 5, 7, or 10. It doesn’t matter. I’m just asking you to chop off the last 5 mins. An alarm can help you ensure you get 8 hours of sleep. I don’t use one. At night, I make a mental note of when I go to sleep. In the morning, I check the time to ensure that I slept enough and that it’s okay for me to cut out the last 5 minutes. If I have a restless night, I’ll allow myself to sleep longer. It’s not about cutting back on sleep. Sleep well and long enough. Just get up when it’s still slightly uncomfortable.
